1. Sec 1 – 4 Mother Tongue Fortnight Activities MTL Fortnight is an annual programme designed to immerse students in the rich cultural heritage of their Mother Tongue languages through engaging and interactive activities. It provides authentic learning experiences beyond the classroom, deepening students' appreciation for their linguistic and cultural roots. Through activities such as calligraphy, cultural performances, and traditional games, students gain a deeper understanding of their heritage in a fun and meaningful way. The programme also incorporates contemporary elements, such as music appreciation, to make learning relevant and enjoyable. By participating in MTL Fortnight, students develop greater confidence in using their Mother Tongue while strengthening their cultural identity, ensuring they stay connected to their roots in an ever-evolving global landscape. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() 2. Author-in-Residence Programme The Author-in-Residence programme provides students with a unique opportunity to learn from experienced writers and gain deeper insights into writing. Through interactive workshops, sharing sessions, and guided writing exercises, students develop their creative thinking, language skills, and appreciation for literature. By engaging directly with an author, students are inspired to explore different writing styles, express their thoughts more effectively, and cultivate a love for reading and writing. This programme nurtures young writers and enhances their confidence in using their Mother Tongue in meaningful and creative ways. ![]() 3. Cultural Performance Exposure Scheme (CPES) The Cultural Performance Exposure Scheme (CPES) aims to deepen students' appreciation for their Mother Tongue languages and cultures through exposure to high-quality performances. These include theatre productions, musical showcases, and traditional arts performances that highlight the richness of Chinese, Malay, and Tamil heritage. By experiencing live performances, students gain a deeper understanding of cultural expressions and artistic traditions. CPES enriches their learning beyond the classroom, fostering a lifelong appreciation for the arts and their cultural roots. ![]() ![]() 4. Competitions Our girls have actively participated in various Mother Tongue Language competitions, showcasing their linguistic talents and deep appreciation for their cultural heritage. From storytelling and essay writing to debate and oratorical contests, they have demonstrated creativity, critical thinking, and eloquence.
