Red Cross Youth

The Cedar Red Cross Youth aims to develop a strong sense of social responsibility and discipline in its cadets through enriching activities which promote team-work, emergency responsiveness, community involvement and leadership skills. The cadets are exposed to a diverse range of useful skills and knowledge such as the First Aid and Disaster Management programme, which is essential in our daily lives and in providing humanitarian aid. We also spread awareness about the National Blood Programme, by encouraging members of the public to donate blood and educating them about the process.

We have many different camps throughout the year, both in school and at the Red Cross Headquarters. These camps include the March Leadership Camp, the Annual Camp, the Unit Instructors’ Camp, the Unit Leaders’ Camp and many more. These camps allow the cadets to develop a sense of belonging to the Red Cross and hones necessary skills such as teamwork and leadership. These camps also allow the cadets to forge strong ties with cadets both within Cedar Red Cross Youth and from other schools.

We also visit welfare homes such as the Red Cross Home for the Disabled to ensure that cadets are able to empathise with and communicate with individuals from all walks of life. Furthermore, the cadets are also able to participate in a variety of competitions such as the First Aid Competition, and the Current Affairs Competition. The cadets also get the opportunity to participate in the National Day Parade and as part of the Cedar National Day contingent, allowing cadets to cultivate a sense of pride to both their school and nation.

With the principles of the Red Cross Movement rooted in our hearts and minds, the Cedar Red Cross Youth will continue to serve one another with compassion.
